Competition and Fair Trading Act

This Act establishes a commission consisting of members nominated by ministers, businessmen, economists, accountants, to regulate, monitor, control and prevent acts or behavior which may adversely affect competition and fair trading in Malawi. It will determine, at the request of any person in relation to the conduct of business, whether any enterprise is carrying on anti-competitive trade practices or unfair trading and the extent of such practices. It takes such action as it considers necessary or expedient to prevent or redress the abuse of a dominant position by an enterprise.
