Japan FSA to Introduce Initial Coin Offering Regulation

The Japan Financial services Agency (banking, securities, exchanges and insurance regulator) is poised to introduce regulations on initial coin offerings (ICOs), first reported by Jiji Press. Like other regulators, the motives behind the ICO regulations are said to include the concern for greater investor protection in light of a significant number of fraudulent ICO cases. Businesses that issue coins / cryptocurrencies will likely be met with a registration requirement.
