Amended version of the Microfinance Act (No. 19 of 2006)

This regulation is the 2008 amended version of the 2006 Microfinance Law.

Topics regulated in this law include: licensing, place of business, capital adequacy, liquidity, governance, and internal controls of microfinance institutions. These entities are also required to follow guidelines on auditing, reporting, publication and submission of financial statements and disclosures. To carry out loans servicing, they must previously classify the risk of their assets as well as those assets used by their clients as collateral.
