Assembly of Kyrgyzstan - Law on Credit Unions, as Amended up to April 26, 2013


The Assembly of Kyrgyzstan's "Law on Credit Unions" defines a credit as a financial and credit organization created in the form of a cooperative in order to help its participants (members) by merging the personal savings of participants of a credit union and their use for mutual crediting and providing other financial services, including in accordance with the Islamic principles of banking and finance. The law provides for the regulation of credit unions and its activities, and puts forth measures for the establishment of a credit union, its management and activities and operations. The law is divided into several chapters, and covers the following topics:

3. Governing Bodies of a Credit Union
4. Saving Shares in a Credit Union
5. Credits and Loans
