Consolidated Financial Intelligence Unit of T&T Act Chap 72.01.


This Act establishes the Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago, implements the Recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force on money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The FIU is a department of the Ministry of Finance, the Director and Deputy Director of this Unit shall be appointed by the Public Service Commission.

 The FIU shall be responsible for the collection of financial intelligence and information and the analysis, dissemination, and exchange of such information among law enforcement authorities, financial institutions and listed business. The FIU shall receive reports of suspicious transactions and activities from financial institutions and listed business.
