Consumer Protection Act No. 46 of 2012

This Act provides for the protection of the consumer and prevents unfair trade practices in consumer transactions. Aspects regulated involve consumer rights, unfair practices and rights and obligations about specific consumer agreements. It details the sectors where advance fees are prohibited, general regulations for credit agreements, and leasing. Regulations establishing and delineating the functions of Kenya's Consumer Protection Advisory Committee are also considered.
