Decree Creating the National Financial Inclusion Council of Mexico

This National Decree creates the National Financial Inclusion Council of Mexico, a  body promoting the consultation, assessment and coordination activities of entities within the financial system.

The council will:

i) analyze proposals on financial inclusion policies,

ii) formulate the guidelines for the National Financial Inclusion Policy of Mexico,

iii) propose criteria for the planning and execution of  medium and long term goals,

iv) establish mechanisms which promote the dissemination of financial inclusion information. 

This Council will be comprised by ten members, including the Internal Revenue Service Secretary, the Internal Revenue Service Subsecretary, the President of the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Service Users, the President of the National Insurance Commissions, and the Governor of the Bank of Mexico. 

The council may establish working groups to elaborate proposals and recommendations on particular financial inclusion matters. This work will be presented to the council for its revision.
