This National Agreement creates the National Financial Inclusion Council of Mexico, a body looking to ease the consultation, assessment and coordination activities of entities within the financial system. Its aims are, among others, to: analyze and formulate proposals on financial inclusion policies, formulate the guidelines for the National Financial Inclusion Policy, propose criteria for the planning and execution of medium and long term goals and establish mechanisms which ease the dissemination of financial inclusion information, both to entities and their clients.
This Council will be formed be ten members, including: the Internal Revenue Service Secretary, the Internal Revenue Service Subsecretary, the President of the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Service Users, the President of the National Insurance Commissions, and the Governor of the Bank of Mexico.
The Council will be able to create, when deemed necessary, working groups whose functions will be focused on the elaboration of proposals and recommendations on financial inclusion matters. This work will then be presented to the Council.
