The Law of Personal Data Protection, or Habeas Data Law, requires all enterprises to protect the personal information maintain within their databases. This law states a series of requirements which entities must fulfill to protect their clients' personal information.
This law applies to all natural and judicial persons which conduct operations involving the use of personal data. This Law does not apply to journalistic information, editorial information, or files kept under a strictly personal environment.
The lack of compliance with these measures will result in heavy sanctions, including fines of up to 2 minimum wages and the permanent closing of operations.
