Nepal Rastra Bank - Capital Adequacy Framework


The Nepal Rastra Bank's Capital Adequacy Framework's main objective is to promote a safe and sound financial system. The framework seeks to achieve this end by way of sufficient amount of qualitative capital and risk management practices. This framework is intended to ensure that each commercial bank maintain a level of capital which is adequate to protect its depositors and creditors, is commensurate with the risk associated activities and profile of the commercial bank, and promotes public confidence in the banking system.
