In order to meet the demands of a changing world and economy, the Parliament of Thailand's Consumer Protection Act, 1998 amends the Consumer Protection Act, 1979. It revises and adds various legal definitions as outlined in the previous act. The act also changes the organizational structure of the Consumer Protection Board, outlines stricter provisions for labels and contracts, and revises the penalties for non-compliance of the certain measures set forth in the act.
