Parliament of Thailand - Electronic Transactions Act, 2008


The Parliament of Thailand's Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 amends the Electronic Transactions Act, 2001. The amendments set forth further measures for the safety and security of electronic signatures. In addition, the act replaces the Electronic Transactions Commission with the Electronic Transactions Committee, and makes the Permanent Secretary for Information and Communication Technology the Vice Chairman of the committee. In addition, the act replaces the Director of the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center, National Science and Technology Development Agency as a member and secretary of the Committee with the Head of the Office of the Electronic Transactions Committee. Lastly, the act sets forth temporary governing provisions until the establishment of the Office of the Electronic Transactions Committee is completed.
