Rule of Law No. 842, Law for the Protection of User and Consumer Rights


This law establishes the necessary regulations for the implementation of Law No. 842, Law for the Protection of User and Consumer Rights. The document outlines the obligations of food, medication and financial service providers, among others.

Regarding financial services, the law appoints the Bank Regulator, the National Microfinance Commission, and the Economics Ministry as responsibles for managing the consultations and claims of consumers contracting services from financial entities.
