This act of law enacted by the Commonwealth of Australia includes amendments up to March, 2016. This law seeks for all standard telephone services and payphones to become reasonably accessible whilst also ensuring this supply remains efficient, economical, and practical. It ensures services are supplied under standards that meet the social, industrial and commercial needs of the Australian community.
This law promotes the development of the technical capabilities and skills of the Australian telecommunications industry, the development of the industry's export oriented activities, and the expansion of research and development of the Australian telecommunications industry.
