TRAI Consultation Paper on Review of network related Quality of Service standards for Cellular Mobile Telephone Service


Telecom Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a consultation paper to review the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. This follows the large number of complaints by customers regarding Quality of Experience (QoE), despite service providers providing benchmark QoS parameters- an issue that could have been due to the averaging of performance throughout the whole service area.

This paper discusses the various ways consumer believe QoE can be improved, reviews the framework for financial disincentives for non-compliance with the QoS benchmarks and summarizes the issues for consultation.
